Connie Britton, 59, called her relationship with fiancé David Windsor “another dream come true” in PEOPLE’s cover story published October 15, 2026. Finding love in her 50s came with a wait: “I mean, it just is and [it] took a long time coming,” she says.
The actress and the TV writer-producer began dating in 2019 after a mutual friend’s 50th birthday party brought them into each other’s orbit. They announced their engagement in October 2025, after 6 years together.

Britton recalled in 2023 that a friend at the party pointed Windsor out and told her, “There’s someone here you have to meet.” They never actually connected that night, so she asked her friend to pass along her email address. Windsor wrote to her the next day.
Both had been married before. Britton was married to investment banker John Britton from 1991 to 1995, and Windsor also has children from a previous marriage.
Britton adopted her son, Yoby, from Ethiopia in 2011. He’s now 15, and she’s previously said Windsor has taken on a paternal role in his life.
