Martin Short has spent years roasting Conan O’Brien to his face, with comparisons ranging from “a ginger crash test dummy” to “the human embodiment of Utah.” A Team Coco compilation brings together insults Short has delivered across multiple visits.

The crash-test-dummy line came on May 6, 2019. During his June 15, 2021 visit, Short told O’Brien, “you look like someone freeze-dried Prince Harry,” and called him “the human embodiment of Utah.”

That appearance was Short’s 26th with O’Brien, a run stretching back to his NBC show.

Other entries in Short’s catalog: “a coloring book that has not yet been colored” and “a number two pencil,” the latter explained by O’Brien’s “yellow skin and your red hair.”

When they revisited the insults on O’Brien’s podcast in 2023, Short’s explanation was simple: “I said it with love.”
