Nelly surprised Ashanti with a belated birthday party at Zoi Mediterranean, the restaurant in NYC’s NoMad neighborhood that the rapper describes as his. He threw the star-studded bash for Ashanti’s birthday.
The couple posed and mingled with friends during the celebration, including TV host Tamron Hall and celebrity hairstylist Johnny Wright.
The timing makes it a belated celebration. Ashanti turned 46 on October 13, and Nelly marked the day with an Instagram tribute calling her his “forever favorite” and adding, “you the one thing I’d never stop choosing. Love you for life, mama.”
The two have a long history of going all out for each other’s birthdays. Ashanti’s 2025 surprise for Nelly’s 51st in Atlanta drew around 50 guests, Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow among them, with cake and a serenaded “Happy Birthday.”
The two first met around the 2003 Grammys, then dated on and off for roughly a decade before splitting around 2013. They rekindled things in 2023 and quietly married that December. Their son Kareem arrived in July 2024.
The party comes days after the couple appeared on Good Day New York on October 21 promoting Season 2 of their Peacock series Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together, which premieres November 19.
