Charlotte Crosby on Sharing Her Pregnancy Loss: “Sometimes Sharing the Hardest Parts Helps Me Carry Them a Little More Easily”

Charlotte Crosby disclosed on Instagram on October 16 that she and her fiancé, Jake Ankers, had lost another baby to a silent miscarriage, her second in 5 months. “Sometimes sharing the hardest parts helps me carry them a little more easily,” she wrote. “And if you’re going through something similar, you’re not alone.”

The couple had heard their baby’s heartbeat at 6 weeks and 5 days. At their 8-week scan, they learned the heart had stopped beating.

The Geordie Shore star, 36, and Jake, a 45-year-old businessman, have 2 daughters, Alba, 4, and Pixi, 20 months.

Charlotte said they’d found out she was pregnant in September while trying for another child. After their earlier loss, the positive tests brought both joy and anxiety. Seeing a heartbeat gave them reassurance because they hadn’t reached that point in the previous pregnancy.

They began imagining a family of 5, discussing baby names and how they’d tell their daughters. Between scans, they spent time with the girls. Charlotte described Jake as their rock, keeping everyone cared for and bringing laughter into the house.

Then came the news at the next scan. Charlotte wrote: “It felt like someone had ripped our hearts out of our chests.”

She said she’d held her daughters especially tightly in the week after the loss and had been looking forward to seeing them become big sisters. She’d also been keeping busy and trying to make Alba’s birthday happy while processing her grief.

The Wave of Light on October 15, which marked the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week, brought those feelings to the surface. Charlotte said she’d realised she might not have given herself space to process everything. After 16 years of sharing her life with followers, putting her feelings into words helped her understand them and keep them from staying bottled up.

She said they’d still love another child, but the possibility of experiencing the same heartbreak again frightened her and left the future feeling uncertain.
