Eric Dane on the Oasis Reunion: “At Least I Lived to See Oasis Playing Together Again, in Tokyo. I’ll Call Witnessing That a Minor Miracle.”

Eric Dane wrote that he was glad to have “lived to see Oasis playing together again, in Tokyo. I’ll call witnessing that a minor miracle,” in his memoir, reflecting on the night he traveled there in October 2025 to watch the band reunite months after his ALS diagnosis.

Watching Liam and Noel Gallagher embrace onstage gave him something to hold onto as his health declined.

In My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, written before his death, the Grey’s Anatomy actor described how the brothers’ reconciliation after years of estrangement moved him.

“Oasis, the band, doesn’t save me, but they move me, they uplift me,” Dane wrote. “The previously estranged brothers hug repeatedly, grinning at one another before each song.”

Their reunion prompted him to reflect on the limits of his own hope. He’d been diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disorder in April 2025, after first noticing trouble using his right hand while eating sushi with his children in January 2024.

“Miracle-wise, I feel tapped out. I have used all mine up,” he wrote. “It’s hard hoping for the impossible while waiting for the inevitable.”

Dane died in February 2026 at 53. His memoir preserves what that night in Tokyo meant to him: “At least I lived to see Oasis playing together again, in Tokyo. I’ll call witnessing that a minor miracle.”
