The Obsession actress grew up loving the X-Men films and Anna Paquin’s performance as Rogue. Paquin played the character in the Fox franchise between 2000 and 2014.

“I am just so excited to be a part of that world, and it’s an honour to play Rogue! I’m a really big fan,” Navarrette said.

For her own version of Rogue, also known as Anna Marie, Navarrette says she wants to respect the Marvel writers’ work while bringing something of herself to the character. Jake Schreier is directing the film.

Her castmates include Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Xavier, Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister and Maya Boyd as Storm.
