Selena Gomez laughed when an Entertainment Tonight interviewer asked, on Oct. 14 in Los Angeles, whether she’d given Taylor Swift any marriage advice after Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce: “I don’t need to! I think she’s probably the best to give me that.”

The interviewer had put it to Gomez this way: “Can I just say, it is so wild that you and Taylor are now married. Did you offer any marriage advice to her?” Swift had married Kelce earlier in the year, on July 3, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Gomez and Benny Blanco, who married in September 2025, were among the roughly 1,000 guests at that wedding.

Swift had already helped celebrate Gomez’s marriage by giving a speech at her wedding. Their friendship began in 2008, when Swift was dating Joe Jonas and Gomez was dating Nick Jonas.

Recalling the speech, Swift said she’d teased their teenage fashion choices: “I did do some light teasing about the way that we used to dress in 2008, the year that we met.”

She also spoke about what their friendship had meant to her: “I talked about how happy I am for her and how beautiful it’s been to get to be part of her life.”

Swift said she kept the speech focused on Gomez rather than her own relationship with Kelce. Describing Gomez on her wedding day, she said, “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful as her on her wedding day.”
