What Selma Blair’s Team Says Really Happened on That Delta Flight

Blair’s representative Jill Fritzo released those words in a statement on Friday, October 16, 2026, pushing back on how the actress’ arrest has been described. The statement says Blair had a medical emergency on the Oct. 11 Delta flight to New York’s JFK and never tried to open the aircraft door.

Blair, 54, was arrested after an alleged altercation with crew members, appeared in court the next day, pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, and was released on bail. She was accused in a criminal court affidavit of repeatedly kicking a police officer and kicking a nurse in the chest, while dispatch audio from Oct. 12 said one person from the incident was injured with “some bite marks.”

Her rep says the public account has been built “almost entirely on a police statement and a decade-old headline,” and that in the silence, “speculation has hardened into something being treated as fact.”

The statement defends Blair’s health history directly. She revealed her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018, and her rep called any suggestion she doesn’t have MS “outrageous.”

Blair also has pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition secondary to her MS that her rep says affects “how a medical episode presents to people who do not know her.” She travels with a service dog, which the rep says authorities took from her.

The rep also laid out Blair’s year: seven film and TV projects in 2026, a skin care line, a clothing line, and a line of reading glasses, plus advocacy for disability rights, the MS community, and this year the Jewish community. Her rep noted Blair had never been arrested before Sunday night.

The FBI confirmed on Oct. 12 that it’s investigating. Blair is still expected at 90s Con in Hartford, Conn., running Oct. 16 through 18.
