Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman, the Offspring’s longtime guitarist, is stepping away from live shows with no return date set after what he called “a sudden and fairly serious health issue.” The 63-year-old announced the break on X on October 21. He hasn’t disclosed his condition.
He said his bandmates have been “super supportive” and will “keep rocking” during his absence.
“I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later,” Noodles wrote. “Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart.”
Noodles joined the Offspring in 1985, before their 1994 breakthrough album Smash. The current tour supports their 11th studio album, which came out in October 2024.
Upcoming shows include the Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 24 and the Garden Amp in Garden Grove on November 7. The band hasn’t named a guitarist to fill in for him.
“Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it,” Noodles wrote.
