Jenna Ortega once dressed as a rock for Halloween, complete with a headband that said “rock.” Her homemade rock costume started with a block of Styrofoam and spray paint. The finishing touch was a headband identifying exactly what she was supposed to be.
The 24-year-old recalled the Halloween outfit on Late Night with Seth Meyers on October 19. “I had a headband, I think, that said ‘rock,’” she said.
Meyers understood the need for a label. His dad, Lawrence, once made him a pile-of-garbage costume, but people mistook it for a pile of leaves.

He called skipping a headband labelled “garbage” his “biggest mistake.” When Ortega asked how old he’d been, he joked, “It was last year.”
Ortega’s other Halloween looks have included a recreation of Björk’s swan dress from the 2001 Oscars. In 2025, she dressed as the Invisible Man for a big parade in Ireland, wrapping her face in bandages and borrowing a friend’s hat and trench coat.
Getting into pubs in that outfit proved awkward. “I was in Ireland, and I think it looked like they were sneaking a child into the [party]. So I had to, like, pull off the face,” she said.
As of the October 19 interview, she still hadn’t picked her 2026 costume. “I’m late! No, I do it last minute.”
