Asia Kate Dillon, who played Taylor Mason on “Billions” for 6 seasons and 71 episodes, is asking for restaurant work after 11 years of earning their living exclusively through theater, film and TV.
In an October 20 Instagram letter, Dillon said the slowdown in acting work extends to many of their fellow performers, particularly those who are trans, nonbinary or gender nonconforming. They wrote that “acting work has all but diminished, and I’m in need of service work once more.” They’re available for part-time shifts, nights and weekends.

Dillon’s restaurant experience goes back to 2000, when they were 15. Their first job was a weekend morning shift at Ithaca Bakery, where they sorted hot bagels, restocked drink fridges and kept the coffee station clean. “I loved it,” they wrote.
They went on to work as a dishwasher, food runner and floor manager while picking up acting jobs. By fall 2015, acting paid the bills full time. Their screen credits include 19 episodes as Brandy Epps on “Orange Is the New Black,” their run on “Billions” beginning in 2017, and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.”
Dillon had also spoken about that working life in April 2025 while promoting “Outerlands,” in which they play a server and nanny. “I was a gig worker and frankly, I still am. Acting is gig work,” they said. They also described having worked in restaurants, babysat and sold drugs.
In their job letter, Dillon identified learning new point-of-sale systems as the hurdle ahead. They closed with: “Thanks in advance for your consideration.”
