On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney Kardashian recalls finding out about Kim’s first wedding through friends, then told their mom. The sisters went 4 weeks without speaking.
Kim was 19 when she eloped with music producer Damon Thomas in Las Vegas in 2000. He was 29. Kourtney says their mom had already heard a surprising congratulations from someone who did her nails, but Kourtney was the one who told her what had happened.
The memory comes up while Kourtney’s talking with her stepdaughter Alabama Barker, 20, about Alabama’s disagreement with her brother Landon, 23. Alabama says she told their father, Travis Barker, something she’d learned about Landon because she thought it was for his own good. She and Landon then went nearly 4 weeks without speaking.
Kourtney, who married Travis in 2022, recognizes the situation. “Four weeks? I told you, I didn’t talk to Kim once for four weeks in high school, no, college,” she tells Alabama.
Kim and Thomas divorced in 2004. Recalling that split on The Kardashians, Kim said Khloé gave her a giant Coke-bottle piggy bank. They stayed up counting the money: $6,000, enough to help Kim move into an apartment and cover her first and last month’s rent.
