Leni Klum is happy to keep dressing up for her mom Heidi’s annual Halloween party, but taking over as host is another matter. The 22-year-old attended the New York celebration as Miss Piggy on October 31, while Heidi transformed into a giant severed hand.

“I just love coming and I love dressing up. I love seeing her costume in person. She does better and better every single year, which I didn’t even think is possible,” Leni said on the red carpet.
Heidi’s earlier worm costume had already made Leni wonder how her mom could outdo herself. This year’s creation left her with another answer: “Speechless.”

Leni arrived late enough that she first encountered the costume online, watching the video repeatedly before seeing Heidi in person.
“But in person, it’s so much crazier than just seeing a photo or a video online. It’s so real and creepy, and to see that that’s your mom and like all this blood is like just a little scary, but so cool,” she said.

The hand was modeled on Heidi’s own, using a scan to reproduce its details. Her longtime collaborator Mike Marino also recreated her engagement ring, wedding band and finger tattoo.
“It’s not just any giant hand: It’s my giant hand!” Heidi said.
As for filling her mom’s place as the reigning queen of Halloween, Leni said, “I don’t think anyone can fill her shoes at all when it comes to Halloween.” She does plan to keep her own tradition going: “I’ll definitely carry on partying and dressing up every year.”
