Parker Posey says her family helped inspire Victoria Ratliff, the Southern socialite she played in season 3 of “The White Lotus.” She drew on her mother and other relatives for the character.
“It was all the women in my family. I mean, I love the drama that the South brings,” she said.

Posey says finding her place in Hollywood has been a difficult journey, with her family providing guidance along the way. At 57, the actress behind roles in “Scream 3,” “Blade: Trinity” and “Superman Returns” is reflecting on the people who helped shape her work.
“I feel like my life has been such a path,” she said. “It’s not been easy at all but I have felt in the right place at the right time.”
Her parents shared her love of movies and celebrated her career. “My dad had every poster up in his office. He loved it. They’re big movie fans!” Posey said.
