Actress Selma Blair has apologized following an Oct. 11 flight incident that left her facing 2 state assault charges over alleged attacks after she was taken off the plane at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

In an Instagram video posted Oct. 30, the Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde actress said her lawyers had cautioned her about discussing the case. She said she’d never intended to hurt or frighten anyone.

“And so to the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, I frightened, alarmed: I am so sorry,” Blair said.

The charges concern a nurse and a Port Authority officer. Blair, 54, allegedly kicked the nurse after her removal from the Los Angeles-to-New York flight, where she’s also accused of injuring a flight attendant. The 2 charges of 2nd-degree assault concern the alleged encounters after the flight.

Her representatives have described what happened as a “medical emergency.” In court, her attorney, Shawn Barnes, said she’d boarded after missing several doses of medication for neurological symptoms and had fallen and hit her head during the flight.

“These factors, your honor, coupled with the altitude, resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation,” Barnes said. “Ms. Blair did not get on that plane intending for any of this.”

Blair was released on $20,000 bail on Oct. 12. Her next court date is Jan. 19 in Queens.
