A viral clip going around has Cardi B griping about European food, and the setting is not what the fan captions say. The audio circulating as a Paris complaint is actually Cardi in Cannes, where she headlined Spotify Beach on the Croisette on June 18, 2025, her first time there.
“No tacos, no nothing, and ain’t no rice” — Cardi B
Cardi can’t find a taco, there’s no rice (“I know I’m fucking Dominican”), no hot sauce, and the only options are truffle fries and tiny sandwiches. She says she’s eaten branzino about three times already, the fish a rough auto-transcript mangled into “brand Z.” The “Kansas” floating around in those captions is the same auto-caption error that turned “Cannes 2025” into “Kansas 2025” on a Vogue reel.

French listeners caught what the English captions missed. One commenter noted she’s saying the food in Cannes isn’t as good as in Paris, and her own sign-off makes the direction clear: “I can’t wait to go to Paris.” She went days later, on June 22, for BeyoncĂ©’s final Cowboy Carter show there.
Her Cannes mood tracks. From the Spotify Beach stage she told the crowd it was “a beautiful time” and “a beautiful place,” but she also said she was having “a bad day” and wasn’t sure if it was because she was “sleepy or hungry.”
The complaint doesn’t hold up as a verdict on Paris. In 2023 she told Vogue, “I love the food out here,” and in July 2026 she praised an Airbnb chef in Paris who had them “EATINGGG.” Her food gripes travel: after Milan this fall she said she wanted a seafood boil, 15 lemon-pepper wings, a Chipotle bowl, and shrimp fried rice the second she got back on American soil.
The monologue is tied to Cardi by the fan page and commenters rather than by any post from her own accounts, and no outlet has dated the recording. October 19, 2026 is the repost date. That’s the day the upload went live, the same day her NPR Tiny Desk premiered in Washington.
