Will Arnett was photographed walking through downtown Manhattan holding a tiny wrapped present. What’s inside, and who it’s for, he’s keeping to himself, which fits a stretch where he’s been dodging questions about his personal life anyway.

On the Sept. 28 episode of his podcast SmartLess, co-host Jason Bateman pushed him for an update on his love life. Arnett, 56, played it close: “It’s going really well,” he said, before adding, “Both of you know exactly what’s happening. I’m not gonna walk into your trap.” He said he’s “very, very happy” and that “things are going great,” but wouldn’t name names.

Asked where he saw the relationship in five years, he said he’s stopped trying to guess. “At 56, I have learned a little bit, in the last two years especially, to let go of whatever ideas that I think it’s gonna go or is gonna happen,” he said. “You get dealt so many f—ing curveballs. And so I’m in a place now where I’m really trying my best to just deal with what’s in front of me.”

He never said a name on air. Emma Marciano, 28, co-founded the fashion label Mimchik and is the daughter of Guess founder Maurice Marciano. One day after the episode aired, People reported the two are dating. The age gap is what the coverage has run with since.

The quiet walk comes in the middle of a loud month for him. His Searchlight film Behemoth!, directed by Tony Gilroy with Pedro Pascal, premiered as the centerpiece of the New York Film Festival on Oct. 2 and hits theaters Dec. 4.

SmartLess played a sold-out live show at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 17. He’s also fronting a new Subway campaign and starring opposite Kristen Stewart in the Prime Video limited series The Challenger, playing NASA official George Abbey.
