Jacob Elordi and Maria Shriver will lend their voices to Eric Dane’s My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments, with the audiobook listing both as co-narrators. Elordi, 29, played Nate Jacobs opposite Dane’s Cal Jacobs on HBO’s Euphoria, and now he’ll help bring his onscreen father’s own words to listeners.

The memoir arrives November 3, following Dane’s death from ALS in February at 53.
Dane wrote the memoir before his death, recounting the symptoms that eventually led to his diagnosis. While eating sushi with his daughters, he found he couldn’t use chopsticks with his right hand.

When it happened again 3 weeks later, he couldn’t grip them at all. He publicly announced his ALS diagnosis in April 2025.
The book also recalls telling his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, the diagnosis. Gayheart withdrew her 2018 divorce petition during his illness; the pair had remained close while raising daughters Billie and Georgia.
Dane remembered Gayheart telling him through tears: “I’m here, we’ll fight this together, I’m not going anywhere.”
