“They needed another girl on the show and I told them, ‘You guys should meet Pamela’…and they met Pamela and they hired her. She was my girlfriend for two and a half years. She was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life.” — David Charvet

David Charvet recalled the introduction while talking with former NBA player Matt Barnes in the bunk room on season 5 of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” He says he recommended Pamela Anderson for Baywatch before she became C.J. Parker, the lifeguard she played from 1992 to 1997.
Charvet, 54, said the producers hired Anderson after meeting her, and that their relationship lasted 2 and a half years. Looking back on his former girlfriend, now 59, he offered those words about her.
Both actors joined Baywatch in 1992. Charvet played Matt Brody until 1996, and his memories of the series came up again in a confessional during episode 4 of “Special Forces.”
“It was a real family,” he said. “It would be pretty incredible after 30 years to be able to put the red trunks back on again.”
Special Forces brought Charvet back to television after a long break to raise his children. He shares daughter Rain, 19, and son Shaya, 18, with ex-wife Brooke Burke. “I kind of retired to be a dad, so they never saw that, and I thought it’d be kind of fun for them to see their dad go at it one more time,” he said.
