Jason Kelce woke Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift with a 7:30 a.m. phone call because he needed someone to spot him on the bench press.

Travis agreed to help. His wife had a different reaction.

On the Oct. 21 episode of New Heights, Travis said the early call made him fear his brother had hurt himself. “In my mind, I’m thinking worst-case scenario,” he recalled, explaining that he worried Jason might be in the hospital with a knee injury after a run.

Instead, Jason asked, “Yeah, can you come spot me?” Travis grabbed his ankle wrap before Jason clarified that he needed help with bench presses. Travis said he wouldn’t have been able to save his brother during a back squat.

As Travis left the room, Swift told him, “This is f—ed up.” His response: “Nah, it’ll be good. It’ll be good!”

Jason, 38, had been taking part in a workout challenge called Squatober. Before flying to Kansas City, he asked Travis how much weight he had in his basement, then packed 2 plates weighing 25 pounds each to bring along.

“A couple extra plates to throw on the old squat bar,” Travis said. “Absolutely hilarious, the most meathead thing I think I’ve ever seen Jason do.”

Jason was visiting for the Chiefs’ Oct. 18 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He and Swift both attended the game at Arrowhead Stadium, where Kansas City won, and Jason also stopped at a New Heights tailgate.
