Karissa and Kristina Shannon say Hugh Hefner controlled their careers and their lives at the Playboy Mansion, where they lived from ages 18 to 20. In a 2025 interview, the former Playmates compared him to Diddy and said he “took our innocence” and “owned us.”

“Hef is Diddy. He was acting like Diddy and getting away with it.” — Karissa and Kristina Shannon

They describe their first sexual encounter with him, a threesome on their 19th birthday in October 2008, as forced. They say Kendra Wilkinson took them to his bedroom, and Karissa has called the encounter “assault” and “rape.”

The sisters say they were placed on “room arrest” as teenagers, with security guards outside their bedroom stopping them from leaving. They say they were regularly given alcohol and “a s*** load of pills” while under 21, and that Hefner pressured them to engage sexually with each other, something Karissa maintains they only pretended to do.

They’ve also described Hefner making their Christian beliefs a source of conflict and said losing their faith became part of their trauma.

They say they contracted chlamydia at 18 or 19, allege Hefner didn’t use condoms, and recall staff dismissing their concerns as “normal sexual activity.”

Karissa says she became pregnant at 20 and hid it from Hefner because she feared he’d want to keep the baby. She later had an abortion and has described the pregnancy as feeling “like an alien inside me.”
