Mark-Paul Gosselaar warns his wife before his on-screen intimate scenes air, which helps explain his reluctance to pitch a romance for his character on Pitch.
The 52-year-old Saved By the Bell actor was reflecting on the 2016 series, whose viewers wanted his character, Mike, to get together with Kylie Bunbury’s Ginny. Asked whether that relationship would have happened, he said he didn’t know and thought the show would keep the possibility under wraps.

Suggesting it himself would’ve meant a conversation at home. Gosselaar joked: “No, no, no. Then I gotta go home and explain that to my wife. It’s never a good thing.”
“Anytime there’s any sort of moment of intimacy, I always have to forewarn my wife that this is coming up,” he said. “She needs earmuffs, an eye mask and the whole thing anytime I have to be intimate with anybody on screen.”
Gosselaar and Catriona McGinn have been married since 2012 and have 2 children together. He’s a father of 4.

He described how he puts family ahead of work during a 2025 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show: “My day revolves around making sure my wife is good [and] making sure the kids are good.”
“I feel so blessed that I have a job, and I get to do what I do because I love what I do,” he said. “But I just see myself as a husband and a father and that’s my day. And [my family] could care less [about] what I do.”
